How it works

Three steps from idea to verified game

MeetYourMatch is the coordination layer for real-world play. It finds the match, holds the resource at the venue, and makes sure the result actually counts once you have played.

  1. Tell us how you play

Pick your activities, set your availability and let your rating settle in over your first few verified games.

  2. Get matched, not just listed

We surface games and players within your skill band, apply fair handicaps, and route you to certified venues nearby.

  3. Pay your place, play, verify

Each player pays their own fee (about £4.50) to confirm their place. Once everyone has paid, the venue booking completes — then check in with a code, play and confirm the score together.

The core loop

A game isn't over until it's verified and rated

Eight steps, repeated every time a game happens. The loop is the product.

  1. 1

    Discover

Browse games near you, filtered by game, time, neighbourhood and skill band.

  2. 2

    Match

Games surface players inside a comfortable rating band rather than a public free-for-all.

  3. 3

    Meet

Everyone converges on a certified venue with the resource — court, table, board, oche or seat — already reserved.

  4. 4

    Play

Standard formats and rules presets per game, agreed before the first point.

  5. 5

    Verify

One participant submits the score; the others confirm. Nothing counts until it is confirmed.

  6. 6

    Rate

Confirmed results move each player's skill estimate in that game's own units.

  7. 7

    Improve

Confidence tightens as evidence builds, so matchmaking gets sharper over time.

  8. 8

    Reconnect

Play well with someone and it is easy to build a regular circle around them.

Matchmaking

Matched by rating, handicapped by agreement

  • Every game has its own skill estimate in its own units — Elo-style points for chess, rack strength for pool, an estimated three-dart average for darts.
  • Skill, rating confidence and match reliability stay three separate measures.
  • Any handicap is agreed manually by both sides, and handicapped games are kept out of the rated track.

Fees

What a game costs

≈ £4.50 per player, per game

The MeetYourMatch service fee covers matchmaking and booking coordination. Each player pays their own. The approved assumption is an average of £4.50 per player per game; actual per-game and per-city rates are still to be set, and the amounts shown here are illustrative demo prices. Anything the venue charges — table or court time, any minimum spend — is separate from this fee.

The venue booking only completes once every required player has paid; until then it shows as pending.

At the venue

Check in, play, confirm

Every certified venue tags its courts, tables, boards, oches and seats with a MeetYourMatch marker, so arriving and starting a game takes seconds.

  1. Resource held

The court, table, board or seat is reserved for the slot, so nobody arrives to find it taken.

  2. Everyone accounted for

Check-in records who actually turned up, which is what keeps reliability meaningful.

  3. Result confirmed

One player submits, the others confirm with one tap, and disputes go to a lightweight review flow.
