Leagues
A season, a division, a table that means something
A league gives a group of players a run of fixtures with a start, an end and a table. Standings only move when both sides have confirmed the result, so a league table is as trustworthy as the games behind it.
Anatomy of a league
What a league defines
Format
Ladder, fixed pairs over a set number of rounds, Swiss, or a challenge ladder — one game per league.
Season
A named season with a start and an end date, so form and standings have a boundary.
Divisions
Players are grouped by skill band, so a division stays competitive from top to bottom.
Standings
Played, won, drawn, lost and points, built purely from confirmed results.
